Arcade machine - ALMOST DONE! (Painted and Pictures!)

The arcade machine is nearing its completion.  The following things are still on the list:

1: Finish etching the marquee
2: put the speakers, computer, and surge protector in the cabinet
3: Put the keyboard/mouse drawer in.
4: Finish the trim on the control board and add the luan to the front of it.
5: Mount the TV

And that's it!  It should be one more full day's work and the project should be finally finished.  I've added a couple pictures of today's progress, one after the first coat of paint and the second after the painting was done and it was moved to our living room.

First coat of paint on.  Still haven't added paint to the bottom trim for the door.

Final painting is done for the cabinet.  I will be hand painting the controller board before attaching it permanently, but I need to attach the microswitches for the left and right paddle switches (for pinball games) and the coin door switches first.

  1. I like the way it is turning out, it looks really good. When I tell people about it they say that they want one too.

  2. I can build them for a decent price if you know anyone who wants to buy one. I learned a lot with this build to save time and money on future ones. The biggest expense is the TV but if someone wanted one built and had a flat panel already they could use that or pick out the one they want since the size can be changed to their specifications.

Online companies sell these for around $1000 without the computer or TV; I can build one of these and sell it for around $600 plus the cost of the computer/monitor, getting the full setup for between $800 and $1000 depending on availability of parts (if someone has a computer and monitor lying around it would be a steal of a deal).
